Root’d Careers was born from lived experience.

After completing my undergraduate degree in the United States, I entered a labour market where opportunity wasn’t just about ability—it was shaped by access, networks, and unspoken rules I wasn’t privy to.

I moved to the UK to further my education, earning two Master’s degrees, expecting that higher qualifications would translate into greater opportunity. Instead, I encountered a familiar pattern—where Black talent, despite strong academic achievement, continues to face barriers to entry, progression, and equitable outcomes.

This is not a talent gap—it’s a social capital and systems gap.

Root’d Careers exists to close that gap. We are building a culturally grounded, globally connected ecosystem designed to support Black talent across the African diaspora with personalised, relevant, and community-driven pathways into meaningful careers.

Because when systems aren’t built for us to thrive, we build our own.
